Please Read: Special Notes On Firearm Model Selection
When selecting your model of firearm from the drop down menus, please keep the following information in mind.
We list over 150 different firearm models in our menu; however we support several thousand different models.
So why don't we list all the models? Frankly, it would make finding your model a nightmare. So what we have decided to do is list the most often requested models. We have also listed some generic styles to choose from. Each of these generics cover anywhere from a dozen to several hundred models. Some examples are as follows.
The 1911.
The 1911 is by far the most copied firearm design. With over half of all semi automatics being some form of 1911, the family covers many thousands of models. However they all fall into one of several groups. These groups are based on barrel length. So while we have included some of the most popular 1911 styles, such as Kimber, we cover most others by a selection of 5", 4.25", 4", 3.75", 3.5" and 3". These six selections will cover all 1911s.
Also of special note is that 1911s are the most varied firearms. While overall size and shape will be the same, small changes will effect how your 1911 fits our holsters. The most common problem is the front sight. Should your 1911 have a high or oversized front sight you may need to stretch the holster slightly. This is easily done by applying a small amount of water, using a Q-Tip, to the sight track area. Then simply work your firearm in and out of the holster. In a matter of a few short minutes your holster will stretch to fit your pistol perfectly.
Revolvers
Thanks to the strange overactive model numbering of some manufacturers, revolver models have become a maze of numbers. Some companies, such as Smith & Wesson will use a different model number for such small changes as grip material. What that leaves behind is one frame and barrel size with upwards of 30 model numbers. To cut down on this issue we list frame size and barrel length. So that a 2" J Frame will not only fit 40 Smiths but many models from companies such as Taurus and Charter Arms, just to name a few.
